So Where Do We Go Now?
I was let go from my job today. A 'restructuring' of the team, they told me. It didn't completely shock me when it happened- I picked up on all the signs around me so I was prepared to take the hit. Though I'm still confused as to why it happened in the first place. My guess? Either I lost the corporate personality contest- or my best simply wasn't good enough for them. Somehow, I think it's a little bit of both.
It hasn't really sunk in yet- but there is much to think about in the coming days. Do I want to continue pursuing a software development career path? Do I want to stay in Calgary? What needs to change? It's been a very slippery slope for the past few years- obviously something isn't working. That 'spark' is missing.
Sometimes, karma's a bitch, too.
