Evening on the Futon
When we moved into our apartment- we had no room for my futon. I love my futon- and without a place for it inside, Ange suggested we put it outside on the balcony, which has plenty of room for it. I was reluctant- simply because then it would be exposed to the elements (especially snow). But in hindsight- I don't regret that decision one bit as it has ended up being one of the best little 'getaway spots' I've ever had. It's probably my most favorite aspect of our place- and since we're staying for another year in this place, I'm really looking forward to another summer of chilling out with the laptop and DSLite at my side, soaking up the warmth of the summer sun.
Tonight was a beautiful night in Calgary- temperatures were still well within the teen digits on the thermometer by 9:00pm- and still a decent amount of sunlight (!!!). So I put on a hoodie to keep myself comfortable, lit my desk lantern, hauled out the laptop, and spent the rest of the evening outside in the cool spring air working on my project and listening to some streaming music online (Shoutcast).
It started cooling off in the last half hour or so- so I decided to retreat inside- but Albiecat is still out there. He loves that futon out there every bit as much as I do. I'm definitely looking forward to another summer of spending copious amounts of time out there.
Seems like 'Laptop Season' has officially begun!
